the alterego’s story
As part of The Alterego collection, this hand-sewn accessory piece is also inspired by Maria Clara. She is portrayed as the ideal image of femininity and purity of a woman. But people had probably forgotten that there is more to her. She was a survivor. There was strength to her meekness. Unfortunately, she and her story existed in a different time and she succumbed to her own despair and personal battle.
The Alterego’s Story represents the alternative ending to her story. It conveys the acceptance of her experiences as a part of who she is and who she will be, her openness to healing, and her readiness to grow.
