jana pondevida

fashion designer

Jana is a fashion designer with an unapologetically maximalist flair.

Storytelling is the backbone of her process. It is vital for her to explore various themes and to communicate a story, a message or a sentiment through her work. The development of her design identity and ethos and the understanding of her signature design elements, which are rooted in juxtaposition between divergent concepts and materials began during her time at Whitehouse Institute of Design.

Always inspired by maximalism and sustainability, Jana aims to create impactful but wearable and well-crafted pieces for people with a penchant for vibrant but timeless forms of self-expression and has a deeper appreciation for craftsmanship.

visible

Inspired by tradition and designed for the contemporary, VISIBLE is an 11-piece resort collection that explores the Filipino culture and its multicultural influences in the context of global fashion.

the reset

The Reset is a menswear collection that unpicks and explores the concept of masculinity and its many faces. It aims to question the stifling masculine stereotypes, to examine the confusing messages about manhood and its impact and to rethink and reshape the social constructs of masculinity.

phosphorescence pt. 1

Phosphorescence is a collection named similarly after a form of biochemical emission of light by living organisms that serves both defensive and offensive functions, resulting in an afterglow that persists after the light has been switched off. It is inspired by confident and vivacious women whose styles are unapologetically excessive and expressive: Iris Apfel, Moira Rose, and Tessa Prieto-Valdes. The pieces for this collection are a homage to their unmissable fashion style and reflect the fusion of their respective signature look: Iris’ passion for colour and prints, Moira’s preference of structured silhouette and edgy style, and Tessa’s adoration of statement accessories.
